5 Different Shots

Here are 5 videos demonstrating different shots, which I learned about in the last two classes. All are filmed by me :)

Cameo Shot

This cameo shot is of my favorite singer, Sabrina Claudio. She actually graduated from Everglades High School, the school I go to, which I think is very cool. While attending her concert, I dimmed the exposure significantly so the background became basically all black, giving this interesting lighting effect.

Two-Shot
This two-shot is a clip of two of my best friends, Gaby and Joujou, on the eve of my birthday. I like to record candid, natural videos everyday, and it just so happened that this day I recorded a nice two shot of both their faces and upper bodies.

Extreme Long Shot

Back when flying on an airplane was a casual, risk-free thing, I recorded this extreme long shot on my plane ride back home from Puerto Rico. Although there's only a small window to plant my phone against, I wanted to take one last glimpse and record the beautiful city and ocean before I left for good. I always ask for the window seat for this reason specifically. Luckily, the plane was tilting to the left, so I got a chance to record from this unique angled perspective.

Full Shot

This full shot is another example of my everyday candid videos. This was right after lunch, and my friend Emily wanted to be in this day's video. I quickly backed up to get her entire body in the frame, and I let her do whatever she wanted to do. She decided on doing this... interesting... walk 😂.

Close Up Shot
For years, I've record piano videos of myself whenever I want to document my progress. This day was another close up shot of my hands. I opened the blinds, which I normally don't do,  so the lighting could be better while I recorded.

  1. 1) My favorite one of your shots was most definitely the close up. The close shot of your fingers as they gracefully touch the keys is really beautiful and gives a peaceful vibe. This scene would fit perfectly in a movie featuring a girl playing the piano
    2) While your extreme long shot shows a very beautiful scene, I don't feel like its a fully accurate representation of an extreme long shot. This type of shot shows a subject and how small it is compared to its surroundings. In your shot, I don't see any subjects, so I feel like this is more of an aerial shot, rather than an extreme long shot.
    3) Your two shot was also shot well. It shows two subjects, which is exactly what a two shot is, in the frame. Not only do you capture two subjects, but you were able to show the relationship between the two people and how they excitedly interacted with each other.
    4) Your full shot was also done correctly. It was able to capture the entire subject's body while also showing her surroundings. You can see students walking behind her and get a sense of the school environment she is in.

  2. I really liked the Close-up shot especially because of the nice soft music that demonstrated your piano skills :) Filming it from that angle helped me feel more connected to the music in a way since I could see your hands hold down on the piano keys.
The Extreme-Long Shot was also done very nicely as I could clearly see the landscape beneath the airplane. I find that sometimes when I'm on a plane and I try to record what's below me, it often comes out with the sun's glare or it's even too dark.
The Full shot, although brief, was very entertaining and did include Emily's entire body and her walk. The camera could've been a little more steady, but I understand it was a candid shot so that was bound to happen.
The Cameo Shot is definitely one of my favorites because the lighting creates an effect of isolation and drama and makes it looks professional
