Use of Sound in our Project

In our film opening, sound will be used in many ways. Here I will be discussing sound in greater depth.

Throughout the majority of the film opening, there will be a voiceover of Betty describing her situation. This includes the beginning, where Betty's voice will be mixed with various sounds, such as the alarm that wakes her up and the diegetic music that plays during her bedroom scene. We will, however, edit this music in so the audience can hear it more clearly. We do not currently know which song we will use, but we have a few contenders as of right now. We have to make sure it is copyright free, so that's another factor that affects our music choice.

The next sound will be the doorbell ringing, and Betty opening the door should make some sound too. The conversation/argument between Betty and James will also be making sound of course, but this sound should be very quiet and then fade into making no sound, while the voiceover then continues over it.

After this, the sound of August pulling up her car will make sound as she will be blasting diegetic music. August's conversation with James will also make sound, and James opening and closing the car door to enter it will be another sound.

When the camera then pans up to the sky, the music of the car should increase, and the sound of James and August arguing should decrease into zero volume. The music that will be playing is still not decided on, but the general feelings of it should be upbeat and energizing. While this plays, the title will be shown in the sky.

It should also be noted that our editing softwares will be Sony Vegas, Final Cut, and Adobe After Effects.
